Google has been working for over a year on a Chrome OS phone syncing feature called "Better Together". It started as a way to answer your phone's SMS messages on your Chromebook, but it has evolved into something more general. The feature is being deployed on the Chrome OS Dev channel.

If you are using a supported version of Chrome OS, you should receive the above notification, which will take you to the new "Connected Devices" settings. Once you pair your phone, the Messages desktop client is automatically set to send you SMS notifications on your Chromebook. Smart Lock has also been moved to the Connected Devices section.

Even though there are not many new features, since it was already possible to set up the Desktop Client Messages on a Chromebook, it's nice to see Google move all phone-related options at the same place. It's unclear when Better Together will appear in the stable channel.
