The pre-orders for the iPhone XR begin just after midnight on Friday, October 19th with the phone set to arrive in the shops and at people's doors on October 26th.

The iPhone XR is the cheapest model in the Apple iPhone 2018 lineup and the phone analysts had originally predicted to be the best seller in the group. This week Apple also sent invitations for a launch event on October 30th. in New York, and not on the Apple campus in Cupertino like last time. Each invitation features different stylized versions of the Apple logo, with more than 300 designs. It also contains the phrase "There is still a lot to do", which refers to more products, besides iPhones and Apple Watch, the company announced last month.
Rumors echo an iPhone X remake similar to that of the iPhone Pro with thinner frames and a face ID, but no notch or OLED screen. These tablets would be available in two sizes, one with an 11-inch screen and the other with a 12.9-inch screen. There is also talk of a Macbook model cheaper, at a price comparable to that of the current Air, with a 13-inch Retina display and a Mac Mini update. Other products we saw at this event included the new iMac, a revised version Apple Pencil, new AirPod and maybe an official version of this Air power Wireless charging mat in MIA since its announcement more than a year ago.
Emoji Drama on iOS 12.1
And in addition "serious news" Apple's new emoji bagel made headlines this week for its dull appearance in the public beta iOS 12.1.
Users went on Twitter to protest the sad portrayal of this New York staple and called for justice.
Fortunately, this story ends well since Apple has since changed the bagel into something more edible with a thicker bread and a layer of smeared cream cheese. And Twitter is happy.

This is not the first time users ask for changes to an emoji. Last year, it was Google that was on the hot seat of burger emoji in Android 8.0 that placed the cheese on the bottom bun, rather than on the slab to which it apparently belongs. Google CEO Sundar Pichai has tackled the problem on Twitter and has restored the order of Android users by putting the cheese back to its proper place in the next version of the emoji.
