A new article arrives at Fortnite: Battle Royale, probably in this week's update: Balloons.

The existence of these balloons already figured in the game's files, but we did not know what they were doing or how they were working up to now. However, to be fair, until they are in the game and we can try them out. we will not know exactly how they work.

But we have an official description and the picture above. The description reads as follows: "Inflate balloons to defy gravity! Add balloons to increase your altitude! "

Like the Grappler and Jetpack before them, Balloons will give players the opportunity to reach new heights. I suspect that it will be a consumable of a stack of about 10 (which is the number of uses of a Grappler), but it is also possible that these are objects that you simply use and do not store at all in your inventory.

Nevertheless, the description gives them the impression of consumables, and not only, you can use several at the same time to increase your performance. As in the movie Up.

It should be interesting to see how this affects the game. Unlike jetpacks and grapples, balloons are fragile. They appear easily. I imagine that the enemies will be able to shoot them, which could lead to the death of other players (although with the new mechanics soaring in all modes, the damage from falling are much less common.)

In any case, we should see balloons in the game on Tuesday morning assuming that Epic Games respects the studio's traditional update schedule. It seems a bit strange to me, what happens with the Halloween event and the LTM Fortnitemares. Releasing a balloon object would have made more sense during Fortnite birthday event.

Better late than never, I suppose.
