Verdict
The exceptional battery life, customizable sound and adjustable fit make these Bluetooth sporty buttons an indispensable purchase.
Fitness-centered Bluetooth headphones cost a dime, and you can easily find reputable contenders for less than $ 50. However, the life of the battery is not a major advantage for Bluetooth buttons even more expensive, most sports headphones promising only 8 hours of charge. The Jayah Tarah Pro Bluetooth Headset $ 160 is the runner of marathon runners of fitness helmets.
Jaybird's fitness-oriented Bluetooth headset is designed to offer something for everyone at a varied price, ranging from $ 100 for entry-level buttons to $ 160 for the Tarah Pro. Jaybird says that these are the first of a new range of Pro headphones designed with the comments of athletes. This shows.
The Bluetooth Jayah Bluetooth Tarah Pro $ 160 Buttons are runners of marathon runners of fitness helmets.
I've been wearing Jaybird's new Tarah Pro fitness accessories for a week, I'm using them on a couple of miles, I'm doing a 45-minute round trip every day to get to the office and make half-way phone calls -hour to my family. had to load the buds once. It is quite rare.
Design
The Tarah Pros look like other Bluetooth headphones in the Jaybird range, with a cord connecting the left and right buttons and a stand that adjusts the length of the cord between the two. The cord of the Tarah Pro is covered with fabric, making it more comfortable to wear around the neck than the plastic cord found on most wireless fitness headphones. The fabric prevents the cord from sticking to your skin when you sweat.
When I wore the Tarah Pros around my neck after a workout or chatting with someone after entering the office, I often forgot that the headphones were there. The cloth cord played a role in this discretion, but the helmet is also incredibly lightweight, at 0.7 ounces (with ear gel).
The Tarah Pros are water and perspiration resistant, with an IPX7 rating, what you expect from a pair of expensive ear buds. Jaybird uses an exclusive charger: a three-pin docking station that attaches to the back of the device controller, and then plugs into a USB charger.

In addition to the fabric cords, the Tarah Pros are similar to the other 2018 models from Jaybird, Tarah and X4, with silicone-gel ends and wings in three sizes in the box.
In shape
If you have tried other Jaybird headphones, such as the X3 or the X4, the fit of the Tarah Pro will sound familiar. The Jaybird gel-tip and wing pairs are available in three sizes, with the average size being chosen by default. I stuck with the average size, and the stabilizing wing and the gel were sealed in my ear. They did not move at all while I was running.
Jaybird has introduced a new feature for the Tarah Pro called Switch Fit, which allows you to rotate each button to wear it on the ear or under the ear. It's a small change, but useful. Previously, you could wear your Jaybirds under or on the ear, but you had to remove the wing and the end, and then put them back. Now you can simply rotate the headset, which rotates just enough to fit it perfectly, no matter how you wear it. I wore the Tarah Pros both ways when I ran and went to work and both were comfortable.
l & # 39; Audio
Jaybird's headphones have always produced incredible sound, and the Tarah Pros are no different. The free Jaybird app for iOS and Android allows you to customize your audio profile to make your current playlist look flatter or more serious.
A new exclusive feature of Tarah Pros is Personal EQ, which adjusts the audio to fit your situation perfectly. When you set up headsets, the Jaybird app guides you through an audition test to customize the highs, lows and mids you will hear in a song. The profile is saved on the device itself. Thus, even if your Tarah Pros are associated with multiple devices, the Personal EQ setting will be transferred from one device to the other.
I tested this possibility by combining the benefits with an iPhone, an Android phone and an Apple Watch, and found that the Personal EQ profile was still stored in my earphones.

My own profile is slightly heavier than the default Flat setting, but not as dynamic as the Get Bass setting in the Jaybird application. You can further customize your personal settings if you do not like the results.
Some runners prefer more ambient noise than the Tarah Pros offer, especially outdoor runners. Tarah Pros do not suppress noise, but they block most sounds. This is useful when I'm walking around the subway squealing around people, but that could be problematic if you run near busy streets.
Battery life
The battery life is where the Tarah Pro shines. I've used a range of Bluetooth fitness headphones, from the cheapest models among the cheapest to the most expensive, and most offer a range of less than 12 hours. (Most options below $ 200 offer less than 8). This is problematic because I never remember charging my headphones. I take them off when I walk out the door after a race or a day at the office and leave them sitting on a counter or table. I usually forget to turn them off so that they die, and then I have to search to find the pair of headphones that came with my iPhone.
The Tarah Pro has a battery life of 14 hours, which corresponds to more than a week of charging during my tests. Jaybird put an accelerometer in the headset so that the Tarah Pro will turn off if you have not moved in 15 minutes. I never turned off the Tarah Pro headphones, and yet they were still charged when I put them back on. It was magical.
It's been eight days since I've been testing Tarah Pro headphones and they're still 40% recharged.
Jaybird uses an exclusive three-pin charger, which would bother me normally. However, this quick-attach charger prevents sweat from corroding the internal components of the device. Most cost-effective buttons have micro-USB ports that can collect sweat, even when the headphones have port covers.
Bottom line
You can easily find Bluetooth headsets for less than $ 160, but these cheaper buttons will not offer you any of the features offered by the Tarah Pro: a 14-hour battery life, a secure and customizable fit, a custom audio profile and reflective charger preventing corrosion.
Occasional runners or those who rarely attend the gym do not need a pair of expensive waterproof ear buds. but for those who train regularly and hate having to charge another device every day, the Tarah Pro is almost perfect in every way.
