When Blizzard launched the BlizzCon in 2005, 8,000 fans were present and two games were celebrated. World of Warcraft and Starcraft. Blizzard estimates that this year's BlizzCon will welcome 35,000 spectators and that all six franchise games will be celebrated.
Things have clearly changed since the beginning of BlizzCon and Blizzard has millions and millions of fans and players around the world. Last year, BlizzCon saw players and participants from 180 different countries.
This year, Blizzard is celebrating its 12th BlizzCon and, although we loved to be there, the sad reality is that there are not enough tickets to go around. This is where the BlizzCon virtual ticket comes in. The virtual ticket allows fans to participate in BlizzCon, even if they have not had the chance to get their hands on a ticket to participate in person.
Thanks to the virtual ticket, fans will have access to all the esport tournaments that will take place at BlizzCon this year, including the Overwatch World Cup, World of Warcraft Invitational Arena, World of Warcraft, a Heroes of the Storm tournament with 1 million dollar price pool and more.
Several new video series will also be available, The Vault and Drawn to Adventure. You can watch the first episodes now for free on BlizzCon.com, but you will have access to all episodes via the virtual ticket. Darin De Paul, actor of Reinhardt, will host episode 1 of The Vault, which explores the rare and unique objects that Blizzard has kept from each of their franchises.
Drawn to Adventure will take you behind the creative process of bringing Blizzard's characters to life with the incredibly talented artists at Blizzard. New content will be released each week before BlizzCon and more than 40 different episodes in different series.
According to Blizzard's tradition, there will be exclusive bonuses in the game that you can only get through a BlizzCon ticket or virtual ticket. All six games will receive exclusive goodies, the first of which has been revealed as a new legendary demon hunter skin for Overwatch Sombra.
Fans who attend the BlizzCon will receive gift bags and anyone who has the option to buy them, whether they have a ticket or not. If you buy a virtual ticket, you will receive $ 10 off your purchase. You will also have quick access to BlizzCon's online sales.
Community Night is also a big deal at BlizzCon. The cosplay contest has traditionally allowed 100 participants to participate, but this year there is no limit to the number of people who can register and the top 25 candidates will be able to come on stage later in the evening.
There are five new categories for incredibly talented Blizzard cosplayers: manufacturing, team building, personal construction, crafts, makeup and special effects. The overall prize for the cosplay contest is $ 25,000.
BlizzCon 2018 will be held in Anaheim, California, November 2-3. You can buy a virtual ticket here. Do not forget to check with us for more information on in-game goodies and BlizzCon events.
