Whenever I see a Cadillac CT6, I want it to be good. A state-of-the-art hi-tech sedan, with a wild engine under the hood. Well, although the production ends in the United States next year, it will not be without a V6 CT6-V 550 horsepower "Blackwing".

The news comes directly from Cadillac. A representative of Jalopnik wrote to the request for comments confirming that the production was coming to an end:

The CT6 will no longer be in production in mid-2019 at the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly, which produces vehicles for North America. Important Note: Our introductory V Series and Blackwing V-8 projects are unaffected by news.

This Blackwing is a beast. From 4.2 liters, 550 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque for the CT6-V with two turbos. Non-V Blackwings will still produce 500 HP and 553 lb-ft with other CT6s.

The CT6 will therefore continue GM's strong tradition of going out as it should have been in the world. This is what is called Fiero syndrome.

In Jalopnik, we wish good luck to CT6 in Valhalla, where she will be living with the second-generation Corvair, the Chevrolet SS and probably two or three Pontiacs I'm forgetting.
