If you are here for your weekly ritual to wait for a new drop of Fortnite: Royal Battle challenges, continues to wait. Fortnite Weekly challenges are usually broadcast at 9:00 am Thursday morning, and they have been doing it regularly for a few weeks. This week, however, things are receding a little. The challenges will be at the same time on the morning of Friday, September 7th, so come back to see us if you continue to climb the coveted skin of Ragnarok.
The reason for this delay is related to the limited time high stakes event and v.540 patch, both of which were postponed to Thursday because of what Epic called a "critical controller error". High Stakes has its own challenges and a new limited-time mode called "Getaway", and Epic probably wanted to delay the weekly ritual to give the event a little time to breathe – he might need data in the new patch for the challenges to work properly. It's a similar thing to what happened at week 7, when the challenges were also moved to accommodate a new patch.
This does not mean that we do not have an idea of what these challenges will entail, and you can see the full list here. Dataminers are discovering the challenges ahead for a while, and Week 9 is no exception. This should not be a bad week overall: the challenge of simply using an ATK is one of the simplest we have ever seen. Inflicting damage with explosive weapons might be a little harder if we did not have an "explosive" LTM to help us. We can also expect a lot of traffic around the newly added tomato temple due to a challenge "eliminate three players", and should be fun to draw attention to the "cool". one of the most interesting points of interest currently on the map.
The most interesting challenge on the list is to dance with another player near Loot Lake. It's hard to know if this simply involves dancing near another player, and we'll know more when the challenges are actually launched. Anyway, Epic wants to make money with these emoticons, and the challenges are not a bad way to put them forward.
You will be able to check these boxes on Friday morning. Until then, we'll see what happens with High Stakes.
