Fortnite has just experienced its second unforgettable live event, a unique event on the map, a sequel to the launch of the season 4 rocket that opened many divisions in the sky.
This time, all eyes were on the mysterious Purple Cube that had been rolling around the map for about a season now, but now the Cube is gone.
The sequence of events that I watched from the ground of Looty Lake (Leaky) was as follows:
First, the cube started to shake and shine, something fell from the bottom into the hole in the lake.
Then he started spinning, becoming really bright and fast.
Then he exploded, turning the whole screen white.
Then things became really crazy.
After that, the screen came back and each player on the map was floating in some sort of … interdimensional vortex? It's hard to describe, it's like Matrix was answering paradise, and you could float on the fly, but not for long.
Quite quickly, what appeared to be a butterfly with wings made of cracks floated around you. "You" as in, each player has seen this thing floating around them in particular, and the game is actually switched to a full version. kinematic for each player where the fault butterfly sits on your hand and brings you back to the map.
The card has been … cleaned up, I guess you would say? Leaky Lake has been modified with a series of small islands / craters, in the center of which is something that I would call, I suppose, Stonehenge Cube, which is a series of cube fragments that might not exist as memorial of the cube that was reserved for us. for a season now, but can now never be seen again.
The rest of the map seems clearer. There is a rainbow in the sky and I think the zombies are gone, although I have to check. Also in the game, we now have a series of "Lil Kevin" challenges that can unlock a new Goblin Cube as another big cube memorial. It's very easy, just play games and get XP, etc.
I'm currently trying to figure out what else has changed on the map and where things are going from now on. Have we really finished with the plot of corruption in the cube? It's something that's been building since season 3 with the comet, so I'm curious to know what will happen next because there's no obvious clues about what this could be . We are only in week 6 of season 6 here, so it goes without saying that more things should happen before the last few weeks and the transition of the new season, but maybe the Cube is definitely behind us. Winter is coming, and I really bet we're going to see a snowy version of the map for season 7, at the very least.
It was a cool and confusing event that was impressive with each player's personal cinematic, and I'm not sure how they managed on a live server like this. I'm looking for more clues about what has changed and what's going to happen, but at the moment, the servers are down. If you missed the event yourself, watch it here:

It was a cool and confusing event that was certainly impressive with each player's individualized cinematic, and I'm not sure how they managed on a live server like this one. I'm looking for more clues about what has changed and what will happen next, but for now, the servers are completely hidden. If you missed the event yourself, watch it here:
