On Friday, two high-ranking employees of Riot Games left the company. League of Legends champion designer Daniel Z. Klein and communications partner Mattias Lehman officially left the company in strange circumstances.
The duo was heard on social media following a Kotaku article about sexism to the composer, as well as a controversy surrounding the Riot PAX panel. At PAX West in Seattle, Riot asked that only "women and non-binary" people attend a series of panels and portfolio audits. The room would open to everyone after 14:30, but the League Subreddit was still angry. A post, full of comments about the panel's "unfairness," quickly made the headlines.
Klein shared his comments about the controversy, calling those who complained about "manbabies". This angered the community even more, with reddit messages targeting Klein and his tweets massively filling the submarine.
According to Kotaku, Riot had asked his employees not to engage in the controversy of the PAX panel, but many in the community have always chosen to share their opinion. Klein told The Verge that he had been "fired for violating our social media policy."
It's unclear why Lehman left or was fired, but he was a strong voice within Riot Games for equal opportunities in the workspace.
Other employees of Riot Games, like Franskurinn, also expressed disgust for the post reddit, but still work for the company.

The post at the top of the League Subreddit is full of commentators applauding Klein's dimissal. "Regardless of your position on PAX, DZK played a really shameful role. I am not a person who is looking forward to seeing other people being fired, but I really appreciate that Riot is taking the steps that are imposed on these issues, "wrote Martdiamond.
Riot Games may have quieted some of his fans, but he honestly disappointed others (including myself). League Twitter and Reddit players felt that an employee of the company should not be allowed to insult them on social networks. For this "unforgivable" act, they enlisted, constantly sending insults and hatred to Klein online.
After the controversy, Riot Games has issued statements about how they will improve their culture, but their actions speak louder than their words. Losing two developers in the same day who denounced the discrimination seems a little strange. In a statement to Kotaku, Riot said, "These departures are independent of our efforts to evolve our culture."
