The first Master & Dynamic wireless headphones cost $ 299 and come in four colors

Master & Dynamic is no stranger to making unique headphones, but the new MW07 headphones are the first to inject into truly wireless headphones. These AirPod competitors cost $ 299 as of today, last 3.5 hours on a charge and can charge from their case to a total of 14 hours.

Like any consumer hardware company, Master & Dynamic has had design flaws, but the MW07 is going in a different direction: luxury materials fit portability. The MW07s use handcrafted acetate lids – like a pair of expensive sunglasses – to give each headset a unique pattern.

At launch, Master & Dynamic will offer MW07 finishes in Tortoise Shell, Steel Blue, Gray Terrazzo and Matte Black Acetate. PVD-coated stainless steel contains the rest of the internal components, including 10mm beryllium conductors for producing sounds emitted by Bluetooth 4.2 radios.

My criticism for the MW07 is coming soon, but I can talk about some of my first impressions. They look like bulky and voluminous photos, but they are perfectly adjusted and light when you wear them. The audio quality is without a doubt one of the best I've heard in wireless headphones – better than AirPods – and the "fitted wings" isolate you enough from outside noises to make you believe the headphones MW07 do not have active noise cancellation, but they are much more effective at blocking outside noise than AirPods.

A button on the right headset allows you to launch the native voice assistant of your phone: Google Assistant on Android, Siri on iPhone, or even Bixby on a Samsung device. Removing one of the headphones while playing music will pause the track and return it to your ear to resume playback. Master & Dynamic also included a quick pairing, opening the case and taking a headset resume the Bluetooth connection with the last device associated.

The MW07 comes with a shiny polished metal charging case that is considerably wider than the AirPod's charging case, but it still fits in a pocket with no problem. It charges in USB-C at 50% in just 15 minutes, and 90 minutes is enough to fully charge the earphones inside.

The MW07s are promising, but the actual battery life and wireless connectivity – two of the most important things for true wireless headphones – will take a little longer to test before reaching a verdict. But so far, the MW07 headphones from Master & Dynamic are promising.
