The first person of Cyberpunk 2077 is not for VR

The first-person perspective of Cyberpunk 2077 is a departure from The Witcher series, and some fans suspect that it has more reasons than the one announced by the CD Projekt Red. After theorizing that it would be playable using virtual reality devices, the studio was reducing the theory.

"Currently, we have no plan," read the short release Twitter. This was in response to a user who had asked questions about the first-person perspective used to bring the game to VR.

The first-person viewpoint sparked controversy among fans at its launch at E3 this year. CD Projekt Red has respected this decision by citing it as necessary for immersion and to keep the HUD clean. He also said that he will work on solutions to help the small number of players who can not play in the first person. Fans have gone on to look for another reason, but VR is not.

The studio, however, implements a photo mode. This raises the question of exactly how it will be used, given the first person point of view, and this could be a way to partially control a roaming camera – at least to align the perfect photograph. The studio is known for its ambitious projects and Cyberpunk is no different. We will see how it will be broadcast on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
