According to sources who spoke with Jalopnik, Ford reportedly asked Getrag to build a manual gearbox for the next Ford Bronco 2020. The new gearbox that needs to be doubled, the MT-88, will be a seven-speed gearbox and will be probably coupled with its 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine.
Currently, Ford is partnering with Getrag to produce the MT-82 six-speed manual transmission for the Mustang. It is possible that this new transmission has similar components, or even in the next generation of this car.
This new transmission is being planned for the Bronco, but since the vehicle is still in development, its plans could change as we approach its revelation.
Only a few cars currently on the market use seven-speed manual gearboxes, including the Porsche 911 and the Chevrolet Corvette.

LinkedIn profiles of Getrag employees show that their technical division in Germany has been working since 2015 on a new manual gearbox internally called 6 / 7MTI550. The basic version of this project is the 6MTI550 six-speed manual transmission, which can be upgraded to a seven-speed version called 7MTI550. This numbering system would fit with their previous projects, given that the Ford MT-82 was calling 6MTI500 internally before being installed on the Mustang.
According to a specification page on the Getrag website, the 6 / 7MTI550 is a six or seven-speed manual transmission with a torque of 405 lb-ft, which is consistent with the current value of 400 lb-ft. 2.7. The profiles of the employees of the Getrag Jiangxi facilities in Nanchang, China, show that they are working on a project carrying the code MT-88, which is not surprising, as they have contributed to the development of the MT-82 currently in the Mustang. The MT-82 is built on this Nanchang facility in China, so it is likely that this new MT-88 can also be built there.
Further research shows that the Dunton Technical Center in the UK is developing part of the development on the Ford side.
