Currently, Ford is partnering with Getrag to produce the MT-82 six-speed manual transmission for the Mustang. It is possible that this new transmission has similar components, or even in the next generation of this car.

The basic version of this project is the 6MTI550 six-speed manual transmission, which can be upgraded to a seven-speed version called 7MTI550. This numbering system would fit with their previous projects, given that the Ford MT-82 was calling 6MTI500 internally before being installed on the Mustang.
According to a specification page on the Getrag website, the 6 / 7MTI550 is a six or seven-speed manual transmission with a torque of 405 lb-ft, which is consistent with the current value of 400 lb-ft. 2.7.
