The Ford Ranger Raptor remains a no-go in the United States

The auto industry is littered with cash and broken dreams for decades, and we now have one more to put on the pile.

At an event organized for the Ford GT, the automaker confirmed that the United States was not expected to receive the Raptor Raptor, the most popular version of its mid-size pickup. Instead, we will have to deal with the F-150 Raptor, which is still very great to be fair, but it's also an expensive proposition with a $ 50,000 price to the north. Ford noted during the event that there was always more demand than supply for this lorry alone.

Ford's reasoning for this move makes perfect sense. We will start with the powertrain. The only propulsion method of the Ranger Raptor is a 2.0-liter dual turbocharger diesel I4. Diesel's reputation in the United States is almost ruined and Ford is likely to move mountains to have its engine approved in the United States. Ford has also stated in the past that it was unlikely that the Raptor Ranger would use another engine, such as a gasoline V6.

There is also the underlying reason for the existence of the Raptor Ranger in the first place. Not all markets are aware of the F-150, Ford has created the Ranger Raptor to give these markets, which are already very heavy diesel, a Raptor they call theirs.

But what about the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2? Would Ford be stupid enough to miss out on the opportunity to steal buyers from his deadly enemy?
