Last June, Epic Games announced that gifts would come soon Fortnite. We are in mid-October, well, that did not happen. In addition, Epic Games has not hinted or implied that the functionality is even imminent.

However, a new leak has apparently done the work for Epic Games, revealing that the feature is already in the game, and maybe soon.

An infiltrator (@ The1Jaren) posted on Twitter this morning, revealing a short video showing what an incredible gift would look like when Epic Games finally decided to break the button and let it live.

As you can see, you will be able to offer items directly from the item store. In other words, it will be as simple as normally buying an item.

Interestingly, there seems to be a limit of days on how often you can send gifts to players. How long will this period last, it is not clear. What is not clear either, it is there will be a limit to the number of gifts that you can offer to a certain player.

In addition, the video does not reveal if you will be able to donate items already purchased to other players. The features seem to be limited to future purchases, but it would be nice to pass unwanted and unused items to players who are not crazy and to buy new items regularly, like most of us.

Nevertheless, the feature seems almost ready to go online. Maybe Epic Games will release it as we approach the holiday season and Christmas for a more thematic emphasis. Or maybe he'll release it in time for some of his most anticipated Halloween skins coming later this month. Who knows. All we know is that it seems to be on the horizon.

Fortnite is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and mobile devices. For more news, information and media about the game, be sure to watch our previous – and constantly updated – coverage of the Battle-Royal title by clicking here.

And in case you missed it, the popular "Ninja" streamer recently tried to teach Ellen DeGeneres to play the game. The result is rather hilarious.
