The founder of EA Motive, Jade Raymond, left the company

One of the most recognizable names in Electronic Arts has left the publisher.

Jade Raymond, studio director and founder of EA Motive, has resigned today. Raymond, who previously worked at Ubisoft and helped oversee the Assassin's Creed franchisee, founded Motive Studios in 2015. Since then, the developer has contributed to the publication of the latest edition of Star Wars Battlefront II in addition to assisting with the development of Visceral technologies Star wars project before closing the studio.

EA released the following statement to Game Informer about Raymond's departure and announcing that Samantha Ryan will take over at the head of Motive's studio.

EA Studios focuses on providing new games and more creative content to players. Laura Miele and her team have taken several steps internally to better support our video game designers, including expanding Samantha Ryan's portfolio to lead new studios, including Motive. Samantha is known for her creativity and support of game teams so that they can bring their visions to life. She is a great game designer with a gameplay ranging from Sims to Batman: Arkham City at Nobody lives forever at the highly anticipated Anthem.

With this change, Jade Raymond has decided to leave Electronic Arts. During his time with us, Jade helped build good teams, and our ongoing projects at Motive and other studios continue unabated. We appreciate all his efforts and wish Jade every success in pursuing his next adventure. We are creating more creativity in everything we do in EA Studios, and we hope to be able to share more in the months to come.

At this point, we still do not know what Raymond will do, because she has not yet published her own public statement. We will keep you informed of any future details that may arise in the future both about this change at Motive and what Raymond's future might entail.
