The co-founders of the photo sharing app on Facebook, Instagram, have resigned and are planning to leave the company in the coming weeks, the New York Times reported on Monday.

The general manager of Instagram, Kevin Systrom, and the technical director, Mike Krieger, on Monday informed Instagram and Facebook executives of their decision, reports the Times, citing sources unidentified as having an acquaintance direct from the question. A reason for their departure was not immediately known.
