The Galaxy S10 could have a larger display than the S9 without a larger body – BGR

Most smartphones have designs on all screens, although the description is not very precise. Next year, however, the Galaxy S10 could have a better screen-to-body ratio if the next leak is accurate.

The iPhone X versions have a tiny bezel at the top, which everyone calls a "notch". Most iPhone X clones have both a notch and a chin, or a lower bezel. Then we have unhindered devices that still have a chin like the Oppo Find X and all the other smartphones from China who have come up with a sliding mechanism for the selfie cam. Finally, Samsung's flagship phones have a traditional full-screen design, the Infinity Display on Galaxy S and Note phones, with thin edges at the top and bottom.

Rumors say the Galaxy S10 will have a new design, and Samsung's DJ Koh has confirmed it, without revealing any details. The word on the street is that there is no notch in the future of the Galaxy S10.

But a reference leak in the browser seems to indicate that the Galaxy S10 could have even smaller frames. SamMobile found a list for a SM-G405F device on HTML5Test, a browser reference that suggests that the phone that has just been tested presents a 19: 9 image format. It is a resolution of 412 x 869 compared to the 412 x 846 resolution listed for the Galaxy S9. Samsung flagship stores have Infinity 18.5: 9 screens.

The model number of the phone does not seem to match what you expect from the Galaxy S10. But SamMobile points out that Samsung has long been using fake model numbers for upcoming flagship handsets. In addition, the phone uses Android 9.0 Pie, and the Galaxy S10 is likely to be Samsung's first phone Pie.

The higher aspect ratio indicates that the Galaxy S10 could be bigger than the Galaxy S9. In this case, the phone will always keep the Infinity Display visible on the S and Note phones, with the upper and lower frames.

The other explanation is that the overall size of the Galaxy S10 will not change. But Samsung could still expand the display by further reducing the upper and lower bevels. One way to do this is to replicate the design of the iPhone X, at the bottom of the screen, and completely eliminate the chin.
