The hidden Google search text adventure game sends you on a hunt

In the old days of computer gaming, players were passionate about text-based adventures, with nothing but letters, numbers, and symbols to guide them. Google remembers these days.

You can relive the glory of the game through words with a Google Easter Egg, an adventure search text that just hid.

Reddit user attempt_number_1 seems to be the first to discover the game and make it public. To access it, go to Google search and search for "text adventure". Then open the developer console by pressing Ctrl + Shift + J for Windows or Cmd + Option + J if you are on a Mac.

The console will open and ask you if you want to play a game. Type "yes", press Enter and you go for a text-based adventure.

The game begins when you notice your reflection in a window: "You are still the same big blue G that you have always been and you can not help but smile."

But there is a problem. Your friends, the rest of the colored letters of the Google logo, are missing and you have to find them.

The game takes place on the Google campus of Mountain View California. You move to places such as "a vast field with googlers players playing the ultimate Frisbee and Dodgeball" and a "strange hallway with clean rooms and panels with designs of combinations of hazardous materials".

Throughout the course, there are some visuals, like an alligator and a crocodile suit in a box, but the game respects the classic format of adventure text, without sophisticated graphics and with limited controls.
