The HTC Exodus Smartphone Based on a Chain of Blocks is expected to debut Oct. 22

HTC Exodus, the blockchain-based smartphone announced in May, is expected to arrive publicly on October 22. HTC has released an introductory video via the newly created HTC Exodus Instagram account, which says "10.22" to indicate the launch of the upcoming smartphone. The announced launch date corresponds in particular to the recent revelation via a dedicated website. The official website has also started recording recordings, in order to determine HTC Exodus' request before its official launch. A recent report mentioned separately that the HTC Exodus would be available for purchase worldwide, except in China. The price details and specifications of the smartphone have yet to be revealed.

The official Instagram account of HTC Exodus has released a trailer revealing the release date. The video shows an overview of the HTC Exodus, but begins with the X character and features October 22 as the launch date. The dedicated website released in July showed that the smartphone would be the "first cold wallet phone with recovery". "Our vision is to expand the blockchain ecosystem by creating the world's first dedicated decentralized applications and security phone," the company writes on its website.

The HTC Exodus will work with multiple protocols to enable interoperability between different blockchains and provide a simplified mobile user experience to the DApp community, according to the features mentioned on the official website. The smartphone should also be endowed with a universal functionality similar to a wallet allowing to host crypto-currencies. In addition, HTC is configured to use the Exodus as a node to "double and triple the number of Ethereum and Bitcoin nodes".

HTC has already revealed its partnership with CryptoKitties to allow users to discover how the blockchain technology works. CryptoKitties is considered the "biggest game in the world to be built on blockchain technology" and unlike any cryptocurrency, it uses blockchain technology to create digital creatures that users can collect, replicate and exchange. The game will mostly debut on the HTC U12 + before making its way to the HTC Exodus.
