After struggling for many years to replace the physical fingerprint reader on its high-end smartphones with a modern sensor hidden under the "Infinity" screen, Samsung would finally look to embrace the future of biometric recognition, but not only on the Galaxy S10. .

Insiders say that an agreement has been reached for the supply of optical fingerprint sensors on the Galaxy A family at an indefinite date next year. Although Samsung plans to incorporate a state-of-the-art Ultrasonic solution from Qualcomm into the Galaxy S10, this slightly more modest optical technology for future Galaxy A-series releases is expected to come from a China-based company called Aegis.
Optical fingerprint readers integrated into the display are generally considered less accurate and less reliable than their ultrasound counterparts, which were difficult to mass-produce until recently and are still much more expensive.
Even in this case, if mid-range smartphones start to adopt standard mechanisms for "invisible" fingerprint recognition, this could be considered a game changer. Especially when the goal is to further reduce the glasses with Infinity-O, Infinity-U and Infinity-V designs.
We do not know exactly what Samsung Galaxy A Series phones might include on-screen fingerprint sensors and what kind of notch-based implementation they will end up adopting. It also seems somewhat improbable that the "Galaxy S10" variant "economic" opts for a method of lateral biometric recognition.
