The iPhone XS Apple is about to launch could cost more than expected – BGR

As far as Apple is trying to conceal important details about its next-generation iPhone lineup, leaks have not slowed in recent years. In fact, the leaks, despite Apple's best efforts, have only grown. Last year, for example, an Apple employee released an iOS 11 GM that confirmed, among other things, the launch of the iPhone X and an Apple Watch compatible LTE.

This year, key details about Apple's next iPhone have once again been leaked with the release of a marketing image of a revamped iPhone X, accompanied by a larger iPhone X model. Plus, we've since learned that the next-generation iPhone X will be dubbed the iPhone XS, while the 6.5-inch iPhone will be dubbed the iPhone XS Max. What remains uncertain is how Apple plans to set the price of the three iPhones it will unveil next Wednesday.

There are rumors that Apple's iPhone 2018 pricing matrix will be in line with last year's. Specifically, the 6.1-inch iPhone will cost $ 699, the iPhone XS from 5.8 inches to $ 799 and the iPhone XS Max from 6.5 inches to $ 999. These are certainly attractive prices, but there is also speculation that the price of the iPhone this year will be higher than expected.

To date, a new research note from Bank of America Merrill Lynch (via CNBC) that the variant of the 6.1-inch iPhone could cost $ 799, with the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max priced at $ 999 and $ 1,049, respectively.

"The price of the iPhone is probably higher than that of the consensus," writes Wamsi Mohan, an analyst at Bank of America. "Although investor expectations are somewhat subdued for the 2019 models, we expect Apple will continue to price iPhones, which should lead to higher consensus estimates."

Although it would be nice if Apple put an aggressive price on its range of iPhone 2018, Apple has never hesitated to place a high price on its products. Indeed, the success of Apple with the iPhone X shows that consumers have no problem spending more than $ 1,000 to get the latest mobile technology from Apple. In fact, as long as the Apple 6.1-inch LCD is a bit affordable, the cost of its iPhone XS is not very high.
