Between May 29 and June 5, more than 800,000 Facebook users were affected by a bug that unblocked people that they had previously decided to block. The company began warning users of the problem on Monday, July 2, announced in a post, adding that it has been corrected, and that everyone has been blocked again.

The bug did not restore friendships on Facebook, and the majority of those affected had only one person unblocked. In general, young people are more likely to experience this kind of abuse, and young women are twice as likely to be sexually harassed than men in their age group.
