The Fortnite 6.21 update is now online and, as always, Epic Games has released release notes to introduce new additions, gameplay changes, and some things that are disappearing. But the most important news this week are the balloons that will make you and your teammates lighter than the air.
The balloon is now available in Fortnite: Battle Royale, allowing you to rise in the air by giving you new ways to send your enemies. Meanwhile, on the Fortnite co-op side, Save the World mode now offers a new ghost hero who launches smoke bombs.
Up, up and away
Balloons can appear everywhere you can find loot, including chests, llamas, drops of loot and regular laying sites. They come in groups of 20 and you can use your main fire button to inflate a balloon and the secondary fire to release it. When you inflate five balloons, you will start to float upwards and you can use the directional controls to fly. When you want to go down again, simply release the balloons until you have less than five.
It remains to be seen how the balloons will affect the matches, but until now it has been a lot of fun to try them.
You will also be able to redeploy your kite when you jump from a height of three floors or more. Epic released this feature last week and decided to let it continue. For items removed from Fortnite, the list includes the semi-automatic sniper, the double guns and the guided missile launcher. They may resurface in subsequent updates, but for now, they will go into the vault and you will only be able to find those items in Playground mode.
New ninja hero in Save the World
Epic also announced a new playable hero in the Save the World cooperative mode, named Dim Mak Igor. As part of the Ninja Hero class, this character allows you to cast smoke bombs on your enemies and you can resist damage when you upgrade to Shadow Stance.
There were also several changes to the missions and game systems in the release notes. Check out the full list of release notes here:

Glider re-deploy
We have completed our first week of using Glider Re-deploy in all modes. During this time, we collected internal data and monitored your constructive responses. We understand that not all players agree with this change, but we want to continue with this feature in the game based on the observed positive results.
This feature remains available, we will begin to modify its functionality in terms of quality of life. First of all, priority will be given to the glider audio in relation to the audio of the weapon in certain ranges. This will begin in v6.21. We also plan to add additional changes in future updates.
Thank you for the discussion and the comments you provided. Please continue to let us know how we can improve this feature, comment on its effects during matches and any other comments you may have while we continue to work on the Re-deploy glider.
