Microsoft most recent Windows 10Surface Pro did a curious thing, abandoning the numbering system used by all its predecessors since its official name, and opted for a more Apple approach with the rather vanilla name of2017 Surface Pro& # 39 ;. However, 2017 Surface Pro is essentially the Surface Pro 5 – it's the successor to the Surface Pro 4 2015 model, after all.
However, a new leak today suggests that Microsoft is revisiting this decision to remove generational model numbering, with Vietnamese website revealing what appears to be the next Surface Pro tablet – and a few days before the next big revealing event of Microsoft, planned for October 2.
The new video and the new images are supposed to be a practical revision of the latest Windows tablet and include a complete unpacking, with the packaging and the device itself clearly indicating that it will be called "Surface Pro 6".
It also appears from the video that the Surface Pro 6 will retain the familiar design of its predecessors, with a minor modification of more rounded corners, making it similar to the one recently launched. Surface GB.
Microsoft has so far avoided using USB-C ports in its Surface Pro devices, and the Surface Pro 6 does not seem to be an exception: it stays true to the USB-A ports of previous models. (Microsoft recently launched a USB-C key for Surface Pro and Surface Laptop users, however.)
According to the data sheet displayed in the images, the device appears to be an entry-level model, with key upgrade in the form of new 8th generation Intel processors – a Core i5 in this case – offering better energy efficiency performance. The unit presented also seems to include 128GB of storage with 8GB of memory under the hood.
Despite Microsoft new patented technology for the Surface Pen, we have yet to hear about the possibility of a new and improved accessory for the Surface Pro range – and there is no sign either in this new leak.
