The live-action hybrid adventure The Quiet Man is grabbing the PC in November

The Quiet Man, a new action-adventure game mixing live video and gameplay, will be launched next month, announced the Square Enix publisher.

Developed by Human Head Studios, creators of Prey, the Quiet Man is centered on the story of a young deaf man with a penchant for the punch named Dane, while he is looking for a kidnapped singer called Lala.

The trailer above shows excerpts of the game and its live action footage. The actual action scenes seem well shot and acted, at least, although the transition from this part to the game is quite difficult. The trailer also does not clearly indicate how the game will be played, although the combat system is apparently choreographed by Tatsuro Koike, the same player who led the Yakuza battles.

Square Enix clearly indicates that the reader will live in a world "without noise". According to the description of the game's Steam page, The Quiet Man will feature "very little separate audio and no subtitles". This will likely only be during game play, given the live action element. Another interesting aspect of Quiet Man is that it goes against the monster of the 30-hour open worlds and is rather designed to be finished in one sitting.

It's quite unusual and I admit I'm intrigued to see how it all goes. It has been a long time since Human Head has developed anything that could be considered a success, after the particularly annoying cancellation of Prey 2. That's why I hope The Quiet Man will make noise.

The Quiet Man will be launched on November 1st and will cost $ 14.99 on Steam.
