At the base, the Home View Outdoor security camera looks a lot like many other smart home surveillance devices: it mounts on your wall via a magnet, allowing you to monitor your space with the lens wide angle of 130 degrees included. You view the live stream of the camera in Full HD 1080p, and store footage for up to 24 hours on the Hive mobile app; paying subscribers may have access to a backlog of 30 days of footage.

The Hive Outdoor Security Camera is also waterproof to IP66, has a night vision mode, a microphone / speaker combo for you to talk to remote visitors and d & rsquo; Motion detection.

To stand out from the crowd, Hive relies on its aesthetics and design. The security camera was designed by Yves Béhar, Hive's brand consultant and prolific designer of gadgets. Responsible for the interior and exterior camera designs of Hive, Béhar is not new in the world of design – especially with such gear.

It's not a bad security camera – I'll say it – but it's not very different from what other companies are proposing. The design is really up to Nest's, but it will take time to test to see if the build is better.

If you're not looking for an outdoor camera but you're interested in the Hive range, you can buy the $ 149 indoor variant. The new Hive Outdoor Security Camera costs $ 199 and is available for pre-order from Amazon or Hive directly and is shipped in December.
