The new Instagram profile designs focus on users rather than the number of their subscribers.

Instagram announced today on its press website that the company was testing new user profile presentations. "Over the next few weeks, you will see features reorganized at the top of your profile, including changes to icons, buttons and how you navigate between tabs," says the blog. Your photo grids, however, will be safe for you to breathe easily.

Examples of potential changes can be seen above. The most notable part of the redesign is that the number of followers seems to be less accentuated because they are no longer at the top of your profile and are in a much smaller font. Twitter recently made a similar change to its iOS app, as the company ponders how to prioritize a "meaningful" conversation on the platform rather than focusing on the numbers. Instagram probably also thinks about the authenticity of its platform because the company has also recently started cracking down on fake followers, comments and more.

The "Follow" and "Message" buttons are side by side and you will see your common followers when you tap the User's Next tab. The grid icons, publications and tagged pictures are now written and it seems that IGTV gets its own tab. For business accounts, there is a Shop tab, as well as buttons such as "Directions", "Call" and "Original Order".

Instagram says it is working on these changes and will test different combinations in phases over the next few weeks. The company said it would continue to experiment with profiles based on comments. Therefore, if you are absolutely opposed to creating an IGTV tab, let him know.
