Devil May Cry 5 sees the return of Dante in the series but a first iteration of the game had for him a completely different concept.
Capcom shared a new concept art for Dante at the Tokyo Game Show 2018 after a presentation on the development of the game behind the scenes.
The following imagery Give us an overview of Dante's design. It is interesting to see how this design was different from the current version. The character creator of this concept art was the veteran Daigo Ikeno who worked on Devil May Cry 2 and 3.
Capcom too shared concept for the Cavaliere, the motorcycle / chainsaw weapon that was seen in the TGS 2018 trailer. Originally, it was intended for Nero, but he was later replaced by Dante. They tried different concepts as seen in the pictures.
In addition to sharing the design for Dante, they also showed his devil's trigger and shared imagery from actor Adam Cowie scanned to create Dante's character model in Devil May Cry 5.
