The new Moto G7 leak reveals a water-dripping style notch, two cameras

Several CAD renderings of the upcoming Moto G7 have been leaked by MySmartPrice and insider known to the industry, Steve H., best known by his Twitter account @OnLeaks. These reaffirm not only what previous leaks have revealed, but also provide new information about the design of the phone. A front-mounted "water drop" style notch brings out a higher aspect ratio than the Moto G6 18: 9. With the addition of a smaller cutout, the sensors and the earpiece were apparently moved to the edge of the phone, although the slightly thicker top edge was retained. An even thicker bezel is placed on the bottom and houses the Motorola brand and the main microphone.

Motorola introduced the sandwich-glass design to its mid-size MotoG series earlier this year with the launch of the Moto G6, and its follow-up also seems to encompass the same design choice. The curved glass back of the Moto G7 will feature a pair of cameras in a circular case and a fingerprint reader placed underneath. According to this leak, the mid-range handset will continue to wear a 3.5mm headphone jack, in contrast to the recent trend of dropping out. The analog connector will be placed down next to a USB Type-C port and a speaker grille. In addition, the unannounced smartphone measures 157 x 75.3 x 8 mm, the camera hump adding 1.5 mm of extra thickness and including a 6-inch screen in this report. Notably, the images shared in today's leak are very much like two allegedly real G7 images that were leaked last August.

The Lenovo subsidiary reportedly announced a total of four Moto G7 Series devices – the Moto G7, Moto G7 Play, Moto G7 Plus and Moto G7 Power – which are branded as Power's new model. A recent report suggested that the Moto G7 will sport a much larger 6.4-inch FHD + display, which contradicts information shared in today's leak. The handset should have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage, at least on one of its variants, with a pair of cameras in the back. According to rumors, the 3500mAh battery will be delivered preinstalled with Android 9 Pie. The Moto G7 should not be available until the beginning of next year and an exact release date should be known in the coming months.
