Blizzard has released a new update for its popular shooter Overwatch. The fix 1.30 is now available on all platforms – PS4, Xbox One and PC – and makes some modifications to several cards and game characters, in addition to introducing his new hero, Ashe.
Unveiled at the BlizzCon 2018 earlier this month, Ashe is the leader of the Deadlock gang and the 29th character to join the Overwatch lineup. She arrived on the public test area soon after her unveiling at BlizzCon, but that's the first time she's available on all platforms. However, for the moment, you will only be able to use it in unclassified games; she will be available in competitive play only two weeks after her release.
Ashe is an offensive hero and one of the most versatile characters of Overwatch. Its main weapon, the Viper, is a lever rifle capable of firing large-scale semi-automatic bursts. It can also aim for precision shots. In addition to that, Ashe is equipped with a Coach Gun, which allows him to inflict a lot of damage very closely and can even send Ashe back if he is shot to the ground.
Another unique ability available to Ashe is the Dynamite. She can launch the explosive on the battlefield; it will then explode after a short period of time or immediately after it is shot. Finally, his Ultimate is BOB, his butler / robotic bodyguard presented alongside him in the Reunion animation short. When summoned, BOB charges forward and shoots enemies with his cannons.
In addition to Ashe, patch 1.30 brings general modifications to all heroes, as well as some modifications specific to Mercy, Reaper, Symmetra and Roadhog. The power of Mercy's ultimate has been increased, while Reaper has been refined to make him more combat-ready at short range. Roadhog has received the most changes; you can see them all in the release notes below.
Overwatch November 13 – Release Notes
Hero Updates
Pity
Developer's Comments: Mercy's ultimate load was a little slow after her basic healing was reduced in a previous update. These changes should restore some of its strength and allow it to accumulate more quickly.
combine
Developer Comments: Reaper's specialty is fighting at a very short distance. The more consistent pattern of propagation and increased healing resulting from his passive ability will make him more able to stand up to his enemies.
Symmetra
Developer's Comments: It is always difficult to use Symmetra's photon projector beam effectively, even after extending the range. By accelerating the charge rate of the primary fire, it takes less time to reach its maximum damage potential and will be a stronger option when it comes with targets to load.
roadhog
Developer Comments: Roadhog is receiving several important changes to make its capabilities more consistent. His chain hook had breakage problems when enemy targets jumped or fell behind an environmental collision. It will now slow them down in the air when the hook lands and will wait less time before starting to reassemble them. Chain Hook's cooldown starts now as soon as it is used, so it does not vary with the distance to Roadhog. We also brought some of the projectiles closer to the center of his Scrap Gun configuration, giving him a more consistent level of damage for his primary and alternate shots. Previously, there was a long-standing bug that caused nearby targets to fly much farther than expected. Once this bug was fixed, we still wanted to keep some of the rollover bursts provided. So we increased the overall velocity limit to keep some of these features.
