The new Porsche 911 has been waiting for some time and, thanks to the frequent observation of mules barely covered by the German automaker, there is not much to surprise. Known internally as 992, Porsche's next flagship will be unveiled in full next week at the Los Angeles Auto Show, but if you can not wait, some official press photos have been released in line, thus killing the mystery of the car design.
As these photos come from a private forum, they are unfortunately the subject of a low resolution common leaks in the press. Despite pixelation, we can see some of the very small changes from the previous 911 generation, including a lower front bumper and a different shape for the rear lights.
Thanks to the absence of black ribbon or camouflage on the rear bumper, the car's rear badge is finally visible, confirming that it is the new Carrera 4S model. Overall, the new 911 retains much of the design of the previous generation, namely its iconic shape and rounded headlights.
Although we know what the car looks like now, Porsche still keeps the exact specifications until the Los Angeles Auto Show. We know that the engine will be placed at the rear and one of the most important changes is a new eight-speed dual clutch transmission based on the Panamera, but with a modified configuration. It's also a safe bet: you'll have the choice between different transmissions and engine configurations. There is no doubt that Porsche will release many variants and special editions down the line.
