Starting with the Windows 10 October 2018 update, Microsoft is deploying on PCs a new feature called "Cloud Clipboard", which saves text and images that you copy into an area of history to which you will be able to refer later, or even the synchronization between peripherals.
Although useful, many people wondered when Microsoft would offer copy-and-paste synchronization on mobile devices, allowing users to synchronize content copied from a PC and paste it on their phone, and vice versa. We now know that Microsoft plans to implement such a feature in SwiftKey on Android, thanks to a new server-side pop-up window in the RTM update of Windows 10 October 2018.
When you enable syncing in the Cloud Clipboards settings, a new link that says "Get an app to sync items from the clipboard to your phone" appears. A new press allows you to access a next page inviting you to download the SwetaKey Beta for Android. However, nothing says if SwiftKey will have the same features on iOS. For now, it seems so that Android will be the first to benefit from the new features of the Cloud Clipboard.
Interestingly, this upcoming page only appears sometimes for us. Usually, this just takes you to the usual phone binding instructions page, but today, I noticed it while detailing that it will arrive on SwiftKey on Android. In fact, the message encourages the user to install the SwiftKey Beta app on Android, which is probably where the feature will be displayed first for the test.
For now, the feature is not yet available on Android. SwiftKey already has a Clipboard History feature, which Cloud Clipboard is likely to replace. Are you planning to use Cloud Clipboard on your PC and your phone? Let us know in the comments!
