The next development of Hearthstone is the Rumble of Rastakhan

Once per generation, the Azeroth troll tribes gather to contribute to the blessings of the Loa and the favor of King Rastakhan. This seamless battle forms the basis of Rumble from Rastakhan, the upcoming Hearthstone expansion, which has just been revealed today as part of the opening ceremony of the BlizzCon.

Nine teams will take part in the latest edition of this famous Troll-Down, each led by a legendary troll champion representing one of Hearthstone's classes. The Loa, ancient spirits revered by the Trolls, will also participate in the fights as legendary henchmen. Shirvallah the tiger is the Paladin Loa, which costs 25 cool mana to cast. You can reduce these expenses by casting spells, but it still seems like a restrictive price for an effect that will probably only be good in incredibly slow control decks.

Rastakhan also adds a new type of classic-style henchman, called Spirits, that will help players with "awesome effects that combine with the Loa". As part of the revelation on stage, we saw a map called the spirit of the shark. This is a Rogue 0/3 minion who, like all Spirits, has Stealth for 1 round. It also has the passive effect of triggering your Battlecry and Combo cards twice. Spirit of the Shark costs 4 Mana, and whoever will remember the quality of Brann Bronzebeard will not sleep on this card. Call it now: we'll see it giant Edwins.

And since there is no killing as much as excessive, the new Overkill mechanic will reward players with a bonus (which will vary) to inflict additional damage to enemy minions. To demonstrate, we took a look at Sul 'thraze at the 4/4 weapon. If you deal extra damage to him (for example, kill a Servant 3 life with his 4 damage), his Overkill bonus allows you to attack again.

Rastakhan will add 135 new cards to the game, as well as a new solo adventure, Rumble Run, which will pit the players against the kingdom's most powerful Troll champions. Apparently, axes will be involved. Overall, Rastakhan looks a lot like another Hearthstone extension: a handful of new ideas and the addition of a keyword. We will need to see more cards to see if this set will be enough to transform a metaphor that has become obsolete in recent months.

Rumble card packs from Rastakhan can be purchased with real money or gold in play at the same rates as other card packs. They can also be earned in the Arena mode of Hearthstone. Before the release of the extension, players will also be able to purchase in advance the Challenger Bundle bundle of 17 units, which includes the Ready to Rumble! return card, for $ 20, or the 50-piece Rumble package, which adds a new King Shaast Hero playable to King Rastakhan, for $ 50.
