Smartphone makers, more than ever, are pushing for a future without glasses. The infamous "notch", as seen on countless phones this year, is unfortunately what we are stuck for at the moment. There are some solutions for giving up the notch, like moving the camera down or adding a pop-up module. There may be another option – a "photographic island".

Rumors circulate that Huawei wants to drill a hole in the screen of future phones, so that a camera can be positioned inside the panel. Presumably, the camera would still be positioned at the top center of the screen, but there would be no telescope around the lens as there is with the notch phones. The camera would be an "island" completely surrounded by the LCD screen

Phones with cameras like the Oppo Find X are clean, but moving parts can often fail over time. Bottom bezel cameras are not great either – no one wants to watch your chin on video calls. Some people say that they do not need a front camera at all, but given the growing popularity of Face Unlock (and the ever-present love for selfies), a phone without doubt probably would not sell well
