Announced Today at the Square Enix Annual Conference Final Fantasy XIV Fanfest, the third expansion of the popular online game, Shadowbringers, is scheduled to begin in the early summer of 2019. Expect a long history, a high-level cap, and many new jobs, including weapon handling. . And did anyone say playable Viera and blue mages?

Now that players have released Ala Mhigo and Doma in the Stormblood expansion, it's time to move on to the fight against the evil Empire Garlean. What will happen to the warrior of light and allied armies? Who are the mysterious Ascians who play with the players since the game's launch? Who is the warrior of darkness? These questions will find an answer in the new extension.

We will have one in patch 4.5, in which we will see why the Warrior of Light must follow a darker path.

Although producer Naoki Yoshida has not been able to pinpoint the new character jobs that will be introduced into the expansion, he said one of them was present in the expansion trailer. In this caravan, we see a character brandishing a weapon both pistol and sword, similar to the weapons used by Final Fantasy VIIISquall.

Then, towards the end of the speech, Square Enix's president, Yosuke Matsuda, arrived on stage, wearing a blue cape and holding a baton.

Matsuda, overturning Yoshida's decision not to name a new post, presented a video announcing that the blue mage would enter the game, but not in Shadowbringers. Blue Mage's work will be introduced well in advance in Game Update 4.5. The Blue Mage will be a limited job, not connected to another class. Players will learn the actions of monsters in combat. When launching version 4.5, the Blue Mage will have a level limit of 50. Once Shadowbringers becomes available, new patches will increase the Blue Mage's level limit. The current ceiling for other jobs is 70, which will be increased to 80 in the expansion.

Still in a teasing spirit, Yoshida announced a new playable race and, although he did not specify which race it would be, he wore this t-shirt:

Players demanded playable Viera, the rabbit race of Final Fantasy XIIFor years. Looks like it's finally happening.

Shadowbringers will also invite new primitives to fight and animal tribes to gain the favors of the opponent, including the adorable Nu Mou.

Other new features include nine new dungeons and a new series of end-of-game raids. Craftsmen and gatherers will have the opportunity to come together and use their skills to rebuild the Holy See. # 39; Ishgard.

A feature similar to the Final Fantasy XI Trust system will be added to Shadowbringers, allowing non-player character heroes to accompany players through dungeons. This will allow players to play through the scenario of the story of the extension completely solo.

And for players who would like to play again in the previous chapters of the story …

New game more! Players can go back and play older scenarios with their current characters, ridiculously overkill.

On the technical side, a new global transfer system will allow players to roam freely between all the servers in their data center. Players who visit other servers will be able to perform any quests as they were on their home server. The global transfer system will be released before expansion to resolve issues prior to launch. Europe and North America will soon have new data centers to help manage a steady influx of new players.

More information on Shadowbringers and the 4.5 update will be revealed during the weekend during the Fanfest. Stay tuned to the official Twitch channel to find out more.
