Nissan Motorsports and MA Motorsports create a unique Project Clubsport 23 rolling parts development platform; combines the latest technologies with Z® Heritage aesthetics
Las Vegas, Nevada – At first glance, the Nissan Motorsports Project Clubsport 23 project car would not seem out of place on the parking lot of a weekend rally between Datsun and Nissan Z® car lovers. However, if you take a closer look at the Project Clubsport 23, you'll discover an astonishing mix of original, custom-made and aftermarket parts that can be seen alone or in the Nissan Dealer Parts Department. .
Nissan Project Clubsport 23
In search of an ideal vehicle, dedicated solely to track, the Project Clubsport 23 borrows generously from many of the most respected suppliers of performance parts tested and developed in motorsport. What SEMA 2018 shows could be very different from here as the vehicle parts continue to develop.
The ultimate goal was to create a vehicle that owners could duplicate using Nissan Motorsports parts or aftermarket parts. First and foremost, Project Clubsport 23 is an ongoing parts development platform.
Not available for purchase. Again.
By building the Project Clubsport 23 project, the team of Nissan Motorsports and MA Motorsports started like any other® an enthusiast would find a body and a donor motor. In this case, the project started with a Nissan 370Z NISMO 2012. The original 3.7-liter VQ37VHR engine developing 350 horsepower was replaced by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 VR30DDTT V6 engine. origin, with a nominal power of 400 horses.
To fully engage sports car enthusiasts, it was decided to keep the 6-speed manual transmission of the 370Z NISMO. It was a challenge because a VR30DDTT has never been associated with a manual transmission. MA Motorsports has successfully developed a clutch disc, cover and flywheel to complete the transition to the NISMO GT LSD Pro-Carbon differential, cooled by a MA Motorsports differential cooler. A lot of time was spent communicating the VR30DDTT engine with the manual transmission.
Improvements continued, starting with an AMS Performance cold air intake kit and Z1 Motorsports bleed valves. MA Motorsports manufactured a custom-made 76mm diameter dual exhaust system to ensure that the VR30DDTT engine airflow is not disturbed. The exhaust gases exit through the rear panel of the registration plate, giving the Project Clubsport 23 a unique look and feel in motorsport. To help keep the VR30DDTT power train running, the factory cooling and steering systems have been upgraded with an AMS Performance heat exchanger, a MA Motorsports power steering cooler and Z1 silicone cooling hoses. Motorsports and Intercooler.
The braking system has been upgraded with the help of NISMO HC Street / Track brake pads, Z1Motorsports 2-piece split rotor discs and NISMO stainless steel brake lines, to be released soon. The suspension modifications included a combination of NISMO suspension elements at the front and rear recently released, a 3 piece NISMO bodywork reinforcement kit, a shock absorber kit. KW Variant 3 coil and Eibach rear springs.
RAYS cast aluminum alloy wheels 18 x 10.5 inches and Hankook RS4 285 / 35R18 high performance tires complete the project elements. The wheels use the latest RAYS "fluidity" technology for quality, durability, durability and affordability. They should be available at Nissan dealerships at a later date.
Depending on the level of interest, Nissan Motorsports can offer a "building kit" consisting of rigid parts and electrical components to help customers build their own ultimate Z track® car.
The internal and external history
Like the powertrain, the Bodywork and Interior Project Clubsport 23 reflect combinations of parts sourced from trusted parts sources and a bespoke fabrication. Inside, the Sparco QRT-R competition seats for 2018, the Sparco 6-point competition harnesses and the Sparco R383 steering wheel with Bell Works Rapfix hub dominate the interior. There is also a fire extinguishing system in the cabin and in the engine bay, as well as a custom welded protective cage. The custom coating was sewn in a diamond pattern by MA Motorsports, offering a contemporary return to the diamond-patterned vinyl used in the original 240Z
Finally, the NISMO 370Z bodywork, once stored, features a pair of factory NISMO panels with a honeycomb separator APR honeycomb / MA Motorsports air dam, a rear shock modified to allow better airflow / cooling, a JDM rear fog light, Selbon TS style carbon fiber cap with Aerocatch cap pins and mirror covers and NISMO carbon fiber pillar lining.
To complete the project, a Personalized Gloss Burnt Orange body wrap from Speedesign Custom Graphics gives Project Clubsport 23 a final sparkle for its debut at the SEMA Show.
SEMA Show 2018, the largest commercial specialty automotive event, will take place from October 30 to November 2, 2018 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
