Here's a little news that punctuates the current status of the beta version of Blackout. For a long time, one of the biggest questions for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4Battle Royale mode involved the number of players supported by the mode. Naturally, most people default to 100, the number of Fortnite and PUBGbecause they are the standard bearers of the genre. Before the beta was launched, the news said Blackout would initially support 80 players, although Treyarch said an earlier version supported more players. The suggestion was that it could go higher than 80, depending on how things are going. Now, just one day, that number has actually changed.

In a tweet, David Vonderhaar, Treyarch's "Dungeon Master", said the number of players has gone from 80 to 88. Interesting, no? There is no additional context and it is not an appropriate context to talk about the ease with which it is possible to choose a number of players for a Battle Royale game. But what this shows us is that this number is far from definitive, and that Blackout is a living creature of a mode that will probably come out of the beta test compared to its start.

Do you think Blackout must have 100 players? Some of the answers to Vonderhaar's tweet certainly are. Let us know!
