The OnePlus 6T will not have a headphone jack, but its battery will be bigger

According to OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, the OnePlus 6 is one of the best Android phones with a headphone jack. In an interview with TechRadar, Pei said the decision was justified. "We found that 59% of our community already had wireless headsets earlier this year – and that was before the launch of our Bullets wireless headsets," he said.

The reasoning of OnePlus is not to go on a crusade against the headphone jack. The company wants to offer a set of optimal features, and Pei thinks it's worth removing the 3.5mm audio jack for something better: battery life. "By removing the plug, we freed more space, which allowed us to put more new technologies into the product," he said.

To mitigate the shock, OnePlus offers alternatives in the form of USB-C headphones, if you must have a wired headset with the next OnePlus 6T. Of course, you will occupy the only port available on the phone, which is far from ideal if you are weak, even with the promise of better autonomy. With OnePlus making its appearance on the headphone jacks, Samsung and LG remain the last two world-renowned manufacturers with flagship phones that still have headphone jacks.
