The Porsche 911 2020 unveiled in its infancy

The official unveiling of the upcoming Porsche 911 is imminent, but it seems that the official images fail to contain the excitement and indulge in the hands of Porschephiles. As published by Jalopnik, some informant sent on what appears to be official press footage of the Porsche 911 2020 (known internally as the Porsche 992).

The photos are in low resolution, however, but the changes in the taillights and the lower front bumper are obvious, somehow confirming the look of the prototypes used in our Ride Along experience last October. The particular variant of the 911 images seems to be the Carrera 4S, as seen on the rear badge.

Unfortunately, Jalopnik has not yet disclosed the details. However, based on what we got during the Ride Along event, we are waiting for interesting changes in the new 911. The 911 prototype that we used was powered by a 3.0-liter H6 engine that turbocharged capable of producing 450 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque. It used a new eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, called "extracted from the new Panamera, but with a modified configuration". The new PDK gearbox is also ready to accept an electric motor.

These figures are not yet final because they are of the prototype version and Porsche may or may not apply additional modifications to the final production version of the 992. However, one thing is certain, the Stuttgart-based automaker is ready to Something different based on the barrage of teasers released this month.

The Porsche 911 2020 will be officially unveiled November 27, 2018. Keep your eyes wide open, because we will certainly share a live report of this memorable event.
