The Razer Blade 15 family enlarges with a new model and dual storage colors

The Razer Blade 15 is a great laptop for gaming and recreation, but there is always room for improvement. Normally, when a laptop is refreshed, it means that you have to update the existing template, but Razer opted for something different by unveiling another version called Razer Blade 15 "Dual Storage Edition" .

It's so called because Razer includes an SSD and a traditional hard drive. So you have two storage options. This is not new in the notebook space, but in the case of the Blade 15, you get a feature that heavier and heavier gaming laptops typically have, but which a reduced footprint of 0.78 inches.

However, the dual storage Blade 15 is actually a low-end gaming laptop of the same name, with a "more affordable" price of $ 1,599. It looks like the original Blade 15 and bears almost the same name, but this new base model is not identical; it is slightly thicker and some high end parts are missing.

This Blade 15 will be the new entry level model of the Blade range, while the high specification models will remain at the same price. This is an interesting strategy that could draw suspicious buyers from the previous starting price of $ 1,899, or convince buyers who simply do not need as much power.

To reduce costs, Razer removed the following: the 144Hz display, the steam cooling chamber (instead of a unibody fan making it slightly thicker), and it returned to a backlighting technique Chroma older, so the function keys also remain backlit (unlike the more expensive models).

But Razer did not remove everything that the more expensive Blade 15 had in his arsenal. There's still the Core i7-8750H processor, including the high-end GTX 1060 Max Q graphics card, 16GB of RAM and a decent 1920×1080 display with a 60Hz refresh rate. With these features, the dual storage Blade 15 may not have the same pixel boosting power as high-end models, but you should still be able to play most games with medium-high settings without much hassle.

Oh, and Razer has also added an Ethernet port, which is useful, I suppose. Cable Internet connections are still useful in 2018, especially in domestic or professional installations.

The Blade 15 Dual Storage is available for purchase today, starting at $ 1,599 USD in the US, Europe and China. It will also be available in several countries in Europe and Asia Pacific in November 2018.

The existing blade, which contains a new color, also receives a minor refresh. I know that may be confusing, but that's what Razer is proposing. the better, thinner and more expensive, Razer Blade 15 (which you may already know) will also be available in a new "mercury white" color. And it looks great.

The new paint job brings an all-white keyboard, an unlit Razer tone-on-tone logo, black ports instead of the usual green, as well as GTX 1060 and GTX 1070 Max Q graphics. It will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2018 exclusively through the Razer store in the United States and Canada and at some retailers in China.
