It may be the year when Google finally released its own smartwatch.

According to gadget specialist Evan Blass Google has been working on a range of new products, including new Pixel phones, second generation Pixel Buds and a new smartwatch that will also be under the Pixel brand.

That would be a major change for Google. In the past, Google has used third-party companies such as LG and Fossil Group, and historical watchmakers like Movado, to integrate its smartwatch software – recently renamed Wear OS – into their watch designs.

This has been a smart move up until now. Technology companies are not often known for their sense of fashion, and so many smartwatches end up seeming heavy, outdated or downright ugly. My point of view has always been that fashion-oriented companies and technology companies should work together to build wearables.

That said, if Pixel phones and Google Home devices are an indication of its hardware vision, a Google Pixel surveillance may not be so bad.

Here is everything we've heard right here on what to expect from a Google Pixel smartwatch.
