Not much is known about the operation of Byte, but Hofmann said that it was officially the project formerly known as v2, which provided for a public and transparent development process with newsgroups. fans dedicated for about six months starting last November.
Hofmann has postponed the v2 indefinitely in May this year, citing funding and logistical issues, as well as his day job in the operation of an immersive entertainment studio called VR Innerspace.
