In one of his presentations, Google talked about the energy consumption and the way your phone drains his battery life. Google compared the amount of current (milliamps or mA) Google Pixel and iPhone 7 Aspire when you view a screen capture with the maximum brightness (see above). Although the amount of power is comparable for both phones, this number decreases by 63% when you use the pixel at maximum brightness in dark mode.

Google has also broken down the amount of current used by different colors when the pixel is set to the maximum brightness. His data shows that the white color uses the most current color, the blue coming in second. Black consumes as little power as possible. Red and green are almost linked and at the lower end of the spectrum, consuming about half as much current as blue.

Google then measured the impact of pixel color on power (in mW). The results show which colors and color combinations consume the most power.

These data tell us two things: First, the night mode or night mode will significantly reduce the amount of battery your phone uses. Second, the colors on your screen also make a difference.
