A few days after Tim Cook appeared at the opening of the Palo Alto website for the launch of the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, the store was stolen Saturday afternoon, and again the next morning.
The recent outbreak of Apple Store flights throughout California reached Steve Jobs' hometown in Palo Alto the day after CEO Tim Cook's introduction to the store for the launch of the new iPhones.
Saturday afternoon, according to Palo Alto online, a group of eight young men took "new demonstration iPhones" as well as iPads, before escaping into several cars. Then, in a separate flight discovered early the next morning, someone broke the store's entrance door and earned an additional $ 50,000 in iPhones and iPads, according to the site.
Cook, as he often does on the first day of the release of new products, visited the store Friday, counting up to his opening and posing for selfies with his clients.
The Palo Alto store, which Apple described in a 2010 repository as a "prototype" store, reopened in June of this year following major renovations.
Flights have been starring Apple Stores across California for most of the year, leaving law enforcement authorities unaware of how much the flights are connected. A spectator filmed a flight to Santa Rosa last week, as well as its aftermath, during which two security guards and two civilians took over and handcuffed one of the thieves. Most robberies followed the pattern of Palo Alto's first crime, with groups of thieves running through the store during working hours, catching things and running away. After the break-ins were much less frequent.
A San Francisco Chronicle According to a report released this week, at least $ 281,000 in total merchandise was collected from the Apple Store in the Bay Area between late August and late September.
