The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 arrives, but the first practical impressions spoil some of the surprises of the highly anticipated Android smartphone. The phone with the stylus will certainly not run out of rumors in recent months. He will make his official debut in New York in a few weeks.
Now, it's the infamous Elder Murtazin of Mobile-Review that's overflowing with details. He says he had the opportunity to try a note 9 recently, ahead of the official revelation, and shared – in Russian – some ideas (unfortunately no pictures).
According to Murtazin, we should not expect a radical change in style compared to Note 8. Indeed, the Galaxy Note 9 looks a lot like both front and back, it is suggested. Samsung has apparently moved the fingerprint sensor to the back, from its ergonomic-stubborn location next to the dual cameras, to a more accessible location below them. That's something we've seen – and welcomed – on the Galaxy S9 and S9 +, and suggests that Samsung really listens to users' comments.
What you may notice, however, is the weight – and how long you can spend from one load to the other. Note 9 apparently uses a larger battery, 4000 mAh, adding to a noticeable increase in weight; it is considerably larger than the 3,300 mAh of Note 8. Since Samsung had squeezed 3,500 mAh into the Galaxy S9 +, it may not be surprising that it felt the need to increase his game for his phone. Expect something like 23-25 hours of video with the Super AMOLED at maximum brightness, apparently.
Like the Galaxy S9 and S9 +, Samsung uses its dual-aperture camera technology. As we saw earlier in the year, this physically changes the lens between two different focal lengths. Samsung's argument is that it makes more sense for low-light shots, while the other is better for everyday scenes.
Murtazin suggests that the stabilization of the optical image has been improved, too, but without camera samples, we will have to wait and see. What we will not get, it's a triple camera configuration, unlike the Huawei P20 Pro. This, apparently, has been pushed back to Samsung's 2019 smartphone alignment.
Then there is the S Pen. All signs indicate that Samsung is focusing its efforts on the Note 9 stylus, especially because the Galaxy S series is growing, making it one of the last differentiators. As we said the other day, Bluetooth is now on board, although used here for what Murtazin describes as "work modes" like unlocking Note 9 with the stylus . The details are pretty rare there, in mind, again, we will have to wait to understand exactly how Samsung uses technology.
We will not have to be patient long. Samsung has already confirmed the holding of an event on August 9 in New York, and the S Pen teasers leave no doubt that this is the Galaxy Note 9 that will occupy center stage. We will bring you all the novelty of this great launch, rest assured.
