Kingdoms of Amalur

The return of THQ Nordic is incredible to say the least. First the team announces the return of the Darksiders franchise with a long awaited sequel; then he acquires Deep Silver and Koch Media, with the respective licenses that THQ lost in the first place; and then he announces that he has acquired TimeSplitters for a potential new version, alongside Second sight. So where does THQ go from here?

In a different direction than we could ever expect. Today, the publisher confirmed on Twitter that he acquired the rights to the Kingdoms of Amalur IP of 38 studios. Although she has not yet announced what she intends to do with the franchise, a recovery could be imminent. You can see the tweet below to confirm the news.

Fan responses have been off the charts, to say the least. Amalur was appreciated by many people, but as you remember, the developers of 38 Studios have encountered a number of legal problems following its release, including Curt Schilling, former Boston Red Sox player. As a result, the studio closed, and the Amalur IP was considered lost.

But now, hopes are high for his return, even if it is perhaps only a remaster of the game that started on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 years ago. Discover the enthusiastic responses to the news below:

And, of course, I responded accordingly …

(Side note: a lot of Andy Dwyer adores here today.)

Again, THQ Nordic has not yet understood its plans, but an announcement of this kind should arrive in 2019. This is the case, remaster … and more!

If you can not wait, you can find a used copy of Kingdoms of Amalur now for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
