THQ Nordic buys a license from Kingdoms of Amalur to 38 studios

THQ Nordic has acquired Kingdoms of Amalur, as well as several other assets from developer 38 Studios.

Kingdoms of Amalur, for those who do not know, is an actor that Tom scored 74 in 2012. Under the direction of 38 Studios, he launched a handful of DLC packs before the developer himself was bothered by legal problems. In late 2016, the founder of the company, Curt Schilling, entered into a $ 2.5 million deal with the state of Rhode Island, following the bankruptcy of the company in previous years.

Earlier this year, THQ Nordic (formerly known as Nordic Games, before acquiring the original THQ in 2013 and renewing its image in 2016) bought Saints Row Koch Media and developer Deep Silver. Last year, he took over Giana Sisters' Black Forest Games studio.

THQ Nordic's press release does not mention much else, but the buyout would include the two kingdoms of Amalur and the "abandoned MMORPG project" of Copernicus.

"The acquisition itself is managed by THQ Nordic AB, based in Karlstad, Sweden, and day-to-day operations (sales and distribution, evaluation of suites and new content, etc.) will be carried out via THQ Nordic GmbH in Vienna, in Austria, "adds statement.

Let's listen to the fans of the Amalur realms among us. What are you doing with the transaction and what would you like to see from the (hopefully) reinvigorated series?
