Capcom has released the trailer of the history of the Tokyo Game Show 2018 and new screenshots for his next Resident Evil 2 remake.

A bit of history for Resident Evil 2 newcomers before diving into things: the original Resident Evil 2 introduces a system known as "zapping" to provide an "A" story and a "B" story – two distinct paths through the game having the same main elements for each character, but changing certain details, events and access to elements according to the character you played first. While this remake of Resident Evil 2 no longer uses "zapping" to tell the story of each character, it remains true to the original by telling a unique story for each character, the two main campaigns providing a compelling view for give a modern idea of the history of each character. True to the original Resident Evil 2, Claire begins her journey on the perimeter of the condemned metropolis, driving her motorcycle in town in search of her brother, Chris. Skillful in the street and comfortable behind the handlebars of his motorcycle, Claire knows how to cope in almost every situation, but no one can prepare for the outbreak that took place in the city limits. As Claire begins her search for her missing brother, she joins a rookie policeman named Leon S. Kennedy who travels to town to see how he can help. Although he has been told to stay away from the remains of the police, Leon still thinks he can help him – and after helping Claire get out of a dire situation, Leon joined him when they were heading to the once busy suburbs.
While both seek safety and survivors in the ruins of Raccoon City, fate will tear them just as quickly when they join forces. An almost fatal accident sends Claire and Leon on different paths, forcing the two characters to navigate the dangers of Raccoon City, the police department and beyond. If they want to live the nightmare that begins to unfold before them, they will have to put their survival skills to the test in the middle of a city filled with terrifying creatures, human and others.
Fans of the original Resident Evil 2 will instantly recognize some key players in history become iconic over the years. Claire will begin to discover the sad truth of the Birkin family, guiding a young Sherry Birkin through the belly of the R.P.D. and the sewers that are right under the city in a desperate attempt to escape. While the surface of the city is covered by the undead, there are far worse creatures hidden in the depths. Biological weapons that want nothing more than to crush Claire hide in the shadows, including a terrifying and mutant monstrosity that seems to hunt Sherry for unexplained reasons ….
Meanwhile, Leon will have his own way to go, gathering the elements of what happened at Raccoon City while he met Marvin Branagh, lieutenant of police and one of the only survivors of the epidemic in the RPD, and the mysterious Ada Wong – a woman who has her own reasons to search the remains of the city. Leon's investigation will take him far beyond the police station turned into a museum and into a much larger plot than he could have imagined. What will the rookie officer discover by diving into the depths of the epidemic that devastated the city?
Resident Evil 2 is scheduled for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on January 25, 2019.
