In one blog article This afternoon, Twitter said that it had received comments from users who were wondering what happened to a tweet once it was reported. Until today, a user could not tell if a tweet had been deleted by the user or deleted by Twitter for violation of the rules. Now, Twitter will clearly indicate when a tweet was considered a violation of the policy:
The company explained:
Now, once we need to delete a tweet, we will post a notification stating that the tweet is not available because it violates the rules of Twitter, as well as a link to the rules and an article providing more details on how we apply our rules. This notification will be displayed both on the account profile and on the specific Tweet for 14 days after the removal of the Tweet.
Building on these changes, Twitter added that users also said that once they reported a tweet, they did not want to see it anymore. This also changes today and means that once you have posted a tweet, it will be hidden from your timeline:
We also received information that you no longer want to continue to see the tweets you have reported. Starting today, once you've posted a tweet, it will be hidden behind a notification like the one below. If you need to see the tweet you have posted, you can tap the notice to view it.
