A number of changes, as well as a seasonal event, are on the way to Destiny 2 in the coming weeks. Bungie has announced preliminary details on two updates to be released before the end of October, as well as the start date of the Festival of the Lost.

The annual Halloween event begins on October 16th. We do not know much about what to expect from this Lost Festival – we'll give more details next week – but Bungie says there's a "new challenge". The only specificity offered was the following: "This includes a disguised party and you are all invited. This ends with a quest to solve a murder."

Update 2.0.4 should also arrive on October 16th. This will bring a number of welcome changes. Once you have completed a lost area, you will be able to hover over the map to see its name (which can be difficult to follow but that is important to know for certain activities). Edge Transit, the legendary grenade launcher that falls too often to Forsaken, will become less common, as three more weapons will join what Bungie calls the mythical Pool World: Through Fire and Flood, Zenobia D and Crooked Fang-4fr.

Scouting rifles, which dealt less damage than expected, will benefit from increased PvE and Gambit damage (but only against AI enemies). In addition, transmission effects will be added to the Flair area of the collection. This will allow you to pay to recover everything you have unlocked. The monitoring of these began when Forsaken was launched on September 4th. However, only those that you actually have in your inventory will be unlocked – to get a ship equipped with a new transmat effect will not add that effect to your collection.

Update 2.0.5 will be available later in the month, October 30. This is provisionally configured to make some of the changes that have been mentioned previously. Sleeper Simultant will be developed in Gambit because it will only receive two ammo packs of Power ammunition, instead of four. The masterpiece hearts can be obtained in new ways as they will be offered as rewards for some of Spider's Wanted bonuses, as well as Scrapper bonuses. And the exotic duplicates will be less common (but still possible), while the exotic Forsaken Exotics, ever more elusive, will have a better chance of falling.

The first release notes shared by Bungie are presented below. The company notes that things could still change by the way out. Also note: Even though Bungie does not appear in the list below, you are adjusting your chances of stumbling on the special Primeval of Gambit needed to launch the Malfeasance Quest, but the other rewards that you'll find in this game are: it may fall will become rarer.
